True but I still want him to shoot as he is an efficient scorer as long as he stays inside the arc!

With 'I' he seems to take his transition shots at the rim or midrange, and same with his shooting off the dribble.

He is graduating this season though so I won't be able see how it affects him next season.

If I position a guard as 'I', I was under the impression that meant the guard drove to the rack. Am I actually telling the guard to post up down low? Must change that if so!

What have I said that suggests this?

Also coming next year, the game engine will increase 3-point opportunities somewhat to be more in line with todays college game.

Steve, on the guard comment are you saying "what have I said" to infer that "I" means the guard posts up?

If you were referring to the driving portion of this, it comes from the game manual.

"Also note, that guard and wing players set to play inside, 'I' will tend to drive more and avoid positioning outside the arc."

This was my key question as well.

Of course, we're guessing how the game engine works, but because of the manual, I have one guard in particular with poor range and lots of speed and drive and pretty good inside shooting so I set him to 'I', assuming this would force him to drive more and shoot inside more.

Is this not the case? Can we get some insight in how this will be effected with the changes?

Perimeter positions (PG, SG & SF) with an inside selection will tend to slash to the basket and in some cases post up their defenders.

Maybe this is the line. Perimeter players will use the inside positioning to drive to the basketball. Front court players (which include SF's) might also tend to post-up more based on this. I guess small forwards are kind of a unique position.

There is always a very small percentage that some player might do anything -- i.e. PG post up, post player tossing up a 3-pointer etc.

Okay cool, thank you for the clarification. So if I have my PG set to I it probably doesn't mean I have him posting up down low, that' good. I'll keep him on I then.

You know it!

I actually wanted to quote something from this thread on discord... then managed to post a reply here instead. Brain fade. So I deleted it.
