Coach Elliott Bauer can be seen walking around the Harrison HPER Complex with his head hung low, shoulders slumped and dark bags under his glassy, red eyes. His rough, unshaven appearance hardly encapsulates what he is feeling internally and does not adequately represent the on-court product that the Delta Devils will be presenting to the Mississippi Valley State faithful this season.
In his latest presser, Coach Bauer asked, "What have I done? I never imagined that my first gig as a head coach would start off this poorly, I mean I get here and our first two exhibitions are just donkey punches straight to the back of my skull. We're going to be relying a lot on the walk-on veteran leadership this season, and that is something that no head coach should ever have to say. I moved out here to BFE Mississippi, the only thing more miserable than that is being the coach of a terrible team. So one of those things needs to change."
