Press Releases:

Oct 18 2031: Progress at CSUN - by ballers123 on April 12th, 2023

Following their historic 45-5 and national finals run season, Cal State Northridge has promoted Cory Gardiner to replace the retired Todd McCracken. With 3 of 5 starters returning from the team that came up short in the championship, along with key bench pieces, CSUN looks to continue their momentum in V7. The Matadors return all of their backcourt pieces including starting PG Tony Goforth and starting SG/SF Elwood Hopkins, both looking to make some noise in their senior seasons. Even though they lose big contributors and a lot of experience from Donnie McLain and Jimmie Dill graduating, the team still returns Redshirt Juniors JT Moss and Ron James who have started a total of 51 games. Coach Gardiner looks to move James into the starting lineup and continue with Moss as the team's 6th man. The team also brings in redshirt FR Marvin Lilly who seems to be the Matadors man down low for the next couple seasons. After a disappointing finals game appearance big man Li Xu looks to have another strong season. Coming off an 7.9ppg and 8.2rpg RS sophomore season, the 7 footer looks to dominate down low along side Marvin Lilly.

Mar 01 2025: 17-24 to 33-7 - by ballers123 on April 25th, 2022

After a disappointing 2023-2024 season and finishing 10th in conference, Cal State Northridge has made an unreal turnaround led by Redshirt Juniors Dale Baugh and Stephen Warden. Head Coach Todd McCracken mentioned that the Matadors got key contributions from RS Sophomore Louie Shaw and RS Sophomore Trevon Black. Cal State Northridge also had big contributions from Freshmen Ivan Riley and freshman big man Tyler Roy.
The team is looking to win the conference tournament and improve their seeding heading into the big dance.
