Herman is an Iowa State legend, the best recruit in cyclone history to date, the first Iowa State player to ever be drafted (6th overall), graduated as Iowa State all time leading scorer with 2395 career points, led the team to their first ever national tournament reaching the round of 32, then returned the following year, received all-conference honors his senior season, he did not do enough to pass Alonzo Vasquez as best Iowa State player ever, but came very close.
