No doubt a cop-out answer but I'd say it's a bit of both.

High SI will improve immediate performance but better potential will help when you're going to be competitive in a few seasons.

At the end of the day you haven't got long so it's a matter of finding reasonable candidates with nobody else interested.

I'd also say that you have zero chance of being competitive next season so maybe hedge towards potential.

I'd aim to get 6-8 signed up with half of them to be red-shirted (at some point in their career - not next season) and half not - to spread their graduations.

If that goes well quickly (with 6 recruits) (never has for me though tbh) you could add 3 JUCO's - leave 3 spots for next years and you'd be bang up to speed and just need to wait, potentially just 1 or 2 seasons) for their evolution to do the rest.

The kid's too slow to play the 1 so he's hand checking players that're flying by, your school's running pressure D causing the opponent to play faster which, that also negatively affects that kid, your school's running man marking D. So try to adjust your Game Tactics.

Do I have to at the end of the season?

You don't have to change teams at all ofc.
Haha I'm assuming you meant if you have to wait until the offseason, which no, you do not. You can change teams anytime, as long as they are open. It's just probably easier to make the switch during the offseason for many reasons.

Hi,

rebooting this one as i didn't find a conclusive answer on the forum. I have won the division but was under the impression that division winners are guaranteed a spot in the Tournament and fielded an incompetent team on the first round of the division tourney.
Before that i was in, but now i am on the bubble and ranking 70+ on the RPI. Can somebody let me know if div winners are guaranteed a spot in the Tournament or....it is indeed the ''best 64 teams'' based on RPI ...

It’s not the conference winners that get an automatic spot, but the conference tournament winners. So if you win your conference tournament, you’ll be in (but still probably a low seed and you’ll have a play a good team.)

Playing this game all this time and had this totally the opposite way in my mind. That one decision I will regret this season.

Cheers,
